of instructional approached to support their learning.
  • Students’ learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions
impacting the work of the students.
  • Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the

What's New at Greenspun Junior High

-Coronado High School will be hosting a parent meeting on Thursday, May 15, at 6:30, in the theater, to provide information regarding the implementation of the new random drug testing program next year.  If you have an 8th grade student who will be attending Coronado HS in the fall, please plan to attend.

-Please find attached the revised Second Semester Exam Schedule for the Middle Schools.

THIS IS A NEWLY REVISED SCHEDULE!

We will have 3 half days the last week instead of two!

The revised exam schedule provides the students with 105 minute exam periods and also accounts for the necessary 220-minute minimum day requirement.

The revised exam schedule affords students time - time in which to complete the exams and to go back and check one's work prior to turning them in.

The revised exam schedule affords students time to prepare for two exams over the course of three days as opposed to cramming for three exams over the course of two days.

The revised exam schedule affords eighth grade mathematics students an equitable amount of time to complete the common semester math exams in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Algebra I Honors.

The revised exam schedule affords students time to review for upcoming exams if they finish early and have checked their work and time remains in the exam period. Additionally, teachers may engage students in other course related activities or silent reading if time permits - especially for the last exam scheduled on Wednesday.

The 2008/09 Middle School Semester Exam Schedules for semesters one and two will be built on the revised schedule. The revised schedule allows for three half days in which schools may offer time for parent/teacher conferences, as appropriate, to identify summer academic activities to either address remediation or enrichment needs of students.

Middle school students are not to go to the elementary campuses after exams.

If you have any questions, please contact Jan Coshow at 799-0920 ext. 4100.
