NOTICE:
New Vaccine Requirement
 for ALL Students Entering 7th Grade
in August, 2008

Please be advised that the Nevada State Health Division has mandated a new vaccine requirement as follows:

Beginning June 30, 2008, children entering the 7th grade of both public and private schools must be vaccinated against Bordetella Pertussis (whooping cough).  This is a new vaccine called Tdap.

The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) is coordinating with CCSD to administer this new required shot to all 6th grade students at each middle school.  During the months of March through May, the SNHD will hold a clinic at every middle school to administer the Tdap.

The date assigned to Greenspun Junior High School is Friday, May16, 2008.  All 6th graders with permission forms will be receiving this shot during one of their classes.  Please watch your mail for a letter and permission form from the SNHD.  In order to provide this shot, we will need you to follow the directions in the letter and have your student bring the required forms and funds to the school on the clinic date.  Flyers will also be posted around campus.

Remember, NO student may begin 7th grade without this new required shot.  Please be sure to have your child immunized by the start of the 2008/2009 school year.  Thank you for your cooperation and participation.
