Greenspun Dean's Office
The Deans’ Office is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly school. The two Deans, Ms. Mindy Diskin and Mrs. Cheryl Winn, have been appointed by the School Board of Trustees to administer the school discipline and attendance program. Students are made aware of standards of behavior through annual orientation meetings, the agenda books and planner provided to all students, the Clark County Secondary Behavioral Guidelines and the daily bulletin. Among the many elements of school discipline are classroom behavior, campus behavior, and school attendance.
The Deans apply a variety of consequences for violation of rules; these consequences include parent phone calls, detention, required parent conferences, in-house suspension, and suspension. Also, for violations of laws and behaviors that endanger others, school police may be involved. The links below summarize the behavioral expectations of Greenspun Junior High School.

Dress Code
The Deans’ Office personnel want to remind students and parents of the school’s dress code policy. Through out the year, students have been observed wearing shirts that do not fully cover their mid sections with straps that are not three inches wide and skirts and shorts have been observed to be too short. Students need to remember that skirts and shorts must be finger tip length. A common concern is that students have been observed wearing their skirts and shorts too low around their waist, giving the impression that their outfit is within dress code, but their waist and tummies are showing. Also, boys’ sagging is a major concern. Students who are found to be violating the dress code will be issued a citation and asked to change into PE clothes. Students need to wear shoes that have a good solid sole. Sandals of any kind should have a strap on the heel to safely secure it to the foot. Finally, the administration at Greenspun Junior High School reserves the right to determine what is appropriate attire. Our goal is to maintain an environment that encourages learning and deters distractions.
Harassment
The Greenspun administration and staff takes a serious stance against any form of harassment. Any student who feels that they are being harassed is encouraged to notify an adult. Greenspun counselors, teachers, and administrators will speak in length to next year’s students about different forms of harassment and how to deal with someone who may be harassing them. These forms of harassment may include verbal, physical, or even visual. Students are encouraged to report any form of harassment immediately to their dean as well as their parents. |
